Sale of Wexford Road – almost without incident

Completing the sale of my flat on 27th January and moving out went smoothly apart from one oversight. In the week before the move I had given away a ton of stuff from the piano to Ikea cupboards to beds and bookshelves. I had also packed up all the boxes for Portugal and for storage in the UK. What I had not grasped was the amount of stuff that fell between the two until the day of completion! Thinking fast, checking the weather, I laid everything out on the pavement outside the house and posted a picture on Nextdoor:

By 12:00am the next day all of it, except a few items that I took to the dump, had found new homes.

One reminder of why I left London was provided by two people on Nextdoor who, without reading the comments, assumed that I was expecting my neighbours to deal with my garbage. To assume makes an ASS out of U and ME:)
